Scarrow Hill Guesthouse is run by Linda and Ian Mackay, a professional couple embarking upon a new adventure.Their aim is to provide quality accommodation and fine food.The Mackay family have great experience in Hospitality Management, and Country House hotels in particular.
Linda Mackay is an experienced cook, and has had formal training to professional standards at Newton Rigg College, Cumbria. In March of this year she is upgrading her cullinary skills further at the famous Rosemary Shrager Cookery School.
Our house was built in 1867 as a gamekeeper's cottage on the Earl of Carlisle's estate - Naworth Castle ( www.naworth.co.uk )is in close proximity, as are Lanercost Priory and Talkin Tarn.
We cater for virtually all of the full spectrum of visitors - holidaymakers, walkers , golfers and cyclists.
A pick-up taxi and delivery service is available on request for clients without transport.
