Scarrow Hill House is an ideal base for many activities, for example

1) Birdwatching at the nearby Geltsdale RSPB Reserve, famous for hen harriers www.rspb.org.uk

2) History - both Hadrian's Wall ( www.hadrians-wall.org  )   Lanercost Priory (http://www.english-heritage.org.uk/server/show/conProperty.153 ), and  The Border Reivers  (http://www.borderreivers.co.uk/ ).

3) Football - Carlisle Utd   ( www.carlisleunited.co.uk  ) Newcastle Utd, Annan and Queen of the South AFC are all within easy reach

4) Golf - at any of our three excellent golfcourses -Brampton "the Jewel of Cumbria" - Peter Alliss( http://www.englishgolf-courses.co.uk/cumbria/brampton.php ), Carlisle and Silloth

5) Fishing - in either river, lake or tarn

6) Shopping -for example at the Lanes, Carlisle (bus stop at road end) or Gateshead Metrocentre (direct train from Brampton)

7) Walking - there are excellent local walks (e.g. Milton Rigg, Gelt Woods and Geltsdale) as well as easy access to the Lakeland fells and Border Country
